Nike每年都會開發幾個重要技術給當年度重點的主力鞋款，而這些技術常常也間接或直接改變了整個球鞋工業，也改變了你我對於籃球鞋的性能要求，這雙Nike Zoom Hyperfuse就是這麼一例。
Zoom Hyperfuse的設計靈感源自日裔Nike設計總監Shane Kohatsu在中國考察籃球運動時，參考當地籃球迷對於籃球鞋穿著的結論，這是一雙可以通過室外籃球場的粗糙地面和戶外嚴酷自然環境考驗的籃球鞋。 Hyperfuse採用創新製程與技術製造，一片式的鞋身設計，將內層、透氣網層以及表層類皮材質使用熱熔接技術(FUSE)為一體，Hyperfuse的無縫線設計更可大幅降低運動鞋專業領域中常提到的潛在熱區(Potential Hotspots)和磨損點(Wear Points)問題。
Hyperfuse不若一般傳統的鞋身設計，鞋面常需要增加額外飾片來彌補其支撐性，在一開始設計時就用電腦計算好鞋面必要的支撐區位置，不需透過傳統裁切與縫製的一片式鞋身製程，精確的合成鞋身上的各種物件，這讓一只Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 9號運動鞋僅重12.5盎司，達到超輕量籃球鞋的境界。
