NIKE, Inc. (NYSE:NKE) 與十度NBA獲選NBA明星球員的Kobe Bryant今天宣布Nike Zoom Kobe IV，這是Nike史上最輕的籃球鞋，低統設計使重量減到11.6盎司。

NIKE, Inc. (NYSE:NKE) and 10-time NBA All-Star Kobe Bryant unveiled the Nike Zoom Kobe IV today, its lightest basketball shoe ever, with a new low cut design weighing in at a mere 11.6 ounces.

籃球運動正以飛快速度演進中，改變的代表人物Kobe正是引領創新突破的先鋒。在設計他的第四雙簽名鞋款時，Kobe要求採取低統設計，而且重量要比革命性的Nike Hyperdunk（13盎司）更輕。

The game of basketball is evolving to a quicker pace, and as basketball’s agent of change Kobe is leading the charge in breakthrough innovation. For his fourth signature shoe, he demanded a shoe that was lowcut and even lighter than the revolutionary Nike Hyperdunk (13 ounces).

「當我第一次要求Nike設計出一雙有史以來最輕的籃球鞋，而且是低統的時候，房間裡安靜到可以聽到針掉在地上。」他指出：「透過這種新鞋款，Nike設計團隊將籃球鞋的標準提升到全新的層次。」

“When I first asked for the lightest basketball shoe Nike has ever created, particularly a low top, you could have heard a pin drop in the room,” said Bryant. “The shoe the Nike design team delivered raises the basketball footwear bar to the next level.”

Nike高性能運動鞋創意總監Eric Avar接受Kobe提出的非傳統挑戰，針對這位全球最有衝勁的籃球員，創造了一雙低統高性能籃球鞋。

Nike Performance Footwear Creative Director Eric Avar accepted the unconventional challenge to create a low cut performance basketball shoe for one of the most dynamic players in the world.

為了製作一雙極輕的籃球鞋，讓Kobe瞬間切入，同時提供穩定性和舒適性，Avar以Nike Hyperdunk的設計創新為基礎，在鞋面採用Flywire，這種高性能架構以超細但超強的尼龍纖維支撐雙腳。然後他在前腳部份加入 LunarLite泡棉，這是自Nike Air問世以來最創新的减震系統，每一步的能量都會被反饋回來，而不會被吸收。最後他在腳跟部位加上Nike Zoom單元，以及全腳掌的Phylon中底。

In order to create an extremely light shoe that allows Kobe to make cuts on a dime while providing stability and comfort, Avar built on the design innovation of the Nike Hyperdunk, using Flywire, a performance architecture that uses thin and very strong nylon fibers to support the foot, in the upper. He added LunarLite foam in the forefoot, the most innovative cushioning system since Nike Air, which returns energy upon every step rather than absorbing energy. He also added a Nike Zoom unit in the heel, and a full-length Phylon midsole.

「創造低統高性能籃球鞋的概念來自Kobe，但我們需要往前邁進的證據則出自Nike運動研究實驗室(NSRL)。」Avar指出：「在實驗室中，我們用慢速播放Kobe高速切入的影片。每一個畫面都顯示，低統籃球鞋讓他更迅速切入，並提升回應速度。」

“The idea to create a low cut performance shoe came from Kobe, but the evidence we needed to move forward, came from working with the Nike Sports Research Lab (NSRL),” said Avar. “At the lab, we were able to review Kobe making high speed cuts in slow-motion capture video. Every frame showed that the low profile shoe allowed him to make sharper cuts, while increasing responsiveness.”

Nike Zoom Kobe IV 將於2009年1月1日起在中國開始販售，美國、加拿大、和歐洲則於2009年2月開始販售。

The Nike Zoom Kobe IV will be available at retail in China beginning January 1, 2009, and throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe beginning early February 2009.

-An outrigger provides lateral stability for cutting and jumps.
-Flex grooves allow the shoe to move naturally with your foot for enhanced articulation flexibility.
-Nike Zoom Air unit in the heel for the light-weight and responsive cushioning.
-Full-length Phylon midsole provides lightweight cushioning and comfort.
-PMC midfoot shank plate for torsional rigidity during quick cuts and jumps.
-LunarLite foam embedded in the fore foot offers lightweight cushioning where you need it most.

所以 鞋舌上的logo並非Kobe的武士標
