十項運動的冠軍得主一般被認定是全世界最偉大的運動員，那麼十項運動的世界紀錄保持人Sebrle就是現今全世界最偉大的運動員。Sebrle保有9026分的世界記錄，也是全世界迄今唯一超過9,000分的選手。Sebrle在2004年雅典奧運已經贏得金牌，2007年大阪世界田徑錦標賽也順利摘金，繼續朝向2008年北京奧運衛冕之路邁進。

Sebrle has accumulated a score of more than 8500 points 21 times. At 33, he will admit that his prime years are probably now behind him yet it is a measure of his class, commitment, durability and competitive spirit that in 2007 he recorded not only the two highest decathlon points totals of the year but also won the world title in Osaka. He will be defending his title in Beijing.
